Brainerd, Minnesota Ice Rinks Opening December 30, 2015

 I don't want to jinx it, but the weather has been mild so far this winter.   It is time to get out and enjoy some free entertainment at the area's local ice skating rinks.

Get those ice skates ready. Brainerd Parks and Recreation reported the rinks and warming houses will open Wednesday, Dec. 30.
Winter break hours through Jan. 4 are noon to 8 p.m., Monday through Saturday and 1-7 p.m. Sunday.
Normal hours from Jan. 5 through March are 4-8 p.m. Monday through Friday, noon to 8 p.m. Saturday and 1-7 p.m. Sunday.

Figure skates and hockey skates in most sizes are available to loan out at each warming house.

Skating Rinks closed December 24 and 25.

As a guideline, rinks will close if temperatures drop to zero or colder. Rinks may close early due to lack of skaters.
